Safety Guidelines & Precautions

⚠️ Cold Therapy Precautions:

  • Do not exceed 10 minutes in a cold plunge, especially if you're a beginner.
  • If you start feeling dizzy, numb, or uncomfortable, exit the tub immediately.
  • Avoid cold plunges if you have heart conditions, high blood pressure, or circulation issues—consult a doctor first.
  • Gradually expose your body to cold water instead of sudden full-body immersion.
  • Warm up your body slowly after a cold plunge to avoid shock or discomfort.

⚠️ Hot Bath Precautions:

  • Do not exceed 40°C (104°F) as excessively hot water can cause dizziness or overheating.
  • If you have sensitive skin or medical conditions (e.g., low blood pressure, pregnancy), consult a doctor before using hot baths.
  • Avoid staying in a hot bath for more than 30 minutes to prevent dehydration.

⚠️ General Usage Precautions:

  • Use caution when entering and exiting to prevent slipping.
  • Ensure the tub is placed on a stable, flat surface to prevent tipping.
  • Do not overinflate—it should be firm but not stretched too tightly.
  • Keep sharp objects away from the tub to avoid punctures.
  • Always check the water temperature before stepping in to prevent burns or shock.

Do not leave children unattended in or near the tub.

Consult

If you have health concerns, it's essential to consult your doctor before using an ice bath. Cold exposure can affect your body in various ways, so getting medical advice ensures it's safe for your specific condition.

Do Not Use

If you have heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, neuropathy, retinal damage, wear a pacemaker, are pregnant, have open wounds, recent surgery, or have a history of frostbite, epilepsy, or other health concerns.

Usage

An ice bath can lower your core body temperature significantly. Cold water immersion constricts blood vessels, slowing blood flow, which combined with health complications can increase blood pressure, risk of cardiac arrest, or stroke.

Potential Side Effects

Intense cold is a common side effect. Extended exposure may lead to hypothermia, frostbite, fast heart rate (tachycardia), abnormal heart rhythm (arrhythmias), or allergic reactions.

Our Recommendation

Despite the potential side effects and warnings, using an ice bath correctly actually has many health benefits! After reading the above warnings and consulting with your doctor. We recommend you begin by spending no more than a few minutes in the ice bath, and slowly working you way up to the recommended time, never push your body beyond its limits.
